Honors Program: A pathway to excellence.

HONR 193G/393C: Big Ideas in the Big Easy

In this course students will read an array of literature from and about New Orleans and have the opportunity to learn about NOLA's culture and history before heading to the Big Easy. Some of the texts are listed below. During the third week of the course, students will travel to New Orleans.

Anne Rice, Interview with a Vampire
Julie Smith (ed), New Orleans Noir


Course Schedule:
Weeks 1 & 2 : Meet regularly on campus; complete assigned readings and reading responses
Week 3 : Trip to NOLA
Week 4 : Complete final projects and give public presentation.
