HON 201/401 Sport and Society
THE COURSE WILL ANALYZE THE STRUCTURE AND ROLES OF SPORT IN MODERN SOCIETY FROM CULTURAL, ECONOMIC, HISTORICAL, AND POLITICAL PERSPECTIVES. SPECIAL FOCUS WILL BE ON SPORT IN AMERICAN SOCIETY WITH COMPARISONS DRAWN WITH THE REST OF THE WORLD. EVALUATION WILL BE BASED ON CLASS PARTICIPATION, SHORT WRITING ASSIGNMENTS, AND A SERVICE LEARNING PROJECT.
